STREET OUTREACH

Valley of Hope Shelter and Recovery’s Street Outreach Program is dedicated to engaging and supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health challenges, and substance use disorders throughout Lawrence and the surrounding communities.

Our outreach team meets individuals where they are, in encampments, on the streets, in parks, and other community locations, to provide immediate support, build trusting relationships, and connect them to critical resources. Through a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, we help individuals access emergency shelter, housing assistance, healthcare, behavioral health treatment, substance use recovery services, benefits enrollment, employment resources, and ongoing case management.

Street outreach is often the first step toward stability and recovery. By reducing barriers to services and fostering meaningful connections, our team helps individuals navigate complex systems and move toward safer housing, improved health, and greater self-sufficiency.

Working closely with community partners, healthcare providers, municipalities, and social service agencies, Valley of Hope Shelter and Recovery is committed to ensuring that every person has access to the support, dignity, and opportunities they deserve.

The Street Outreach Program falls under the Daybreak Shelter and has the same Director.
